Well today was a day when I just felt like tucking into a large piece of cake. Unfortunately I'm on a diet, so cake was a big fat no. Instead I thought I would console myself by doing some window shopping.
Not for clothes, because I find that a tiring and often depressing activity, but instead for art materials.
However it wasn't long before window shopping became ooh-just-one-pencil shopping, and then of-course-I-need-a-new-sketchbook-too, and then -OOH-LOOK-AT-ALL-THESE-PRETTY-PENCILS-I-TOTALLY-NEED
I don't really regret it though. The pencils and sketchbook are still making me feel happy and I haven't even opened them. No post cake gui

Hope everyone is well. I've finished exams now so back to drawing more :nod: :woohoo:
I've had a look through my horses and wondered if anyone is interested in leasing the stud's 2 KWPN/Dutch Warmbloods?
They both have amazing pedigrees but I always struggle if I sit down to draw them.
Neither of them have started their ridden careers. The length and terms of lease can be worked out if anyone suitable is interested :nod: But if you do a decent amount of art of them breeding slots will definitely be up for grabs, and neither of these girls' bloodlines is to be sniffed at.

Right, well I've been pretty inactive since September. I really want this to change, I miss drawing A LOT so I've decided I need to make time for it. I think I would be much happier. Not that I'm unhappy, but I do miss the relaxation of it.
However I think Chater Valley Stud needs a bit of a makeover. I've got too many horses so I'd really like to either lease/sell or freeze some. I might even retire some of the horses who were more active so they're just available for stud. I also think the staff will get mixed up a bit, get rid of some and introduce some new faces.
so keep your eyes peeled!

GIMP is a real pain on a Mac! I had to go through each and every one month trail that Adobe has for all of the Photoshops before I had to break down and buy one. CS3 can be pirated, but nothing newer, and CS2 should be able to be legally downloaded from Adobe if I'm not mistaken (I'll see if I can find a link). I've tried Inkscape, which is kind of nifty, but it's vector, and there's Fire Alpaca, which is like a free version of Pain Tool Sai and works really well.
